Section A-6 - Pygmy Goats
Chairman - Tracy Muckel 717-786-1017 Pygmy Goat Show, Wednesday, September 18, 2008, 10 AM RULES 1. ELIGIBILITY: All exhibitors must live in Lancaster County or be enrolled in a Lancaster County 4H Club or FFA Club. 2. All animals must have a health certificate current within the last 90 days before the show. All animals must comply with the current Scrapie regulations. Animals showing signs of contagious disease, such as ringworm, lice, sore mouth, pink eye, etc., will not be permitted on the fairgrounds. All goats must have an official ear tag, legible tattoo or micro chip. An " Animal Owner or Caretaker's verification of Veterinarian - Client - Patient Relationship" for is also required.3. ALL GOATS MUST BE DEHORNED 4. ALL EXHIBITORS MUST CONTACT CHAIRMAN by September 1, 2008. 5. Exhibitors are required to furnish their own bedding, hay, feed, water pails, and feed tubs. Shavings will be used for bedding. All exhibits must be cared for in a humane and ethical manner during the entire length of the Solanco Fair. 6. Exhibitors must enter exhibits on Tuesday, September 18, 2008 between 5 - 8 PM. 7. ALL EXHIBITS MUST BE REMOVED ON FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 2008 AT 10 PM. 8. Open and registerd Pygmy Goats will show in the same classes. Pygmy Goat conformation "breed standard" is taken from National Pygmy Goat Association. 9. Age of exhibitor will be 8 years old as of January 1, 2008. 10. All decisions on the above rules will be made by the chairman and all decisions are final. Premiums for each class will be:
1st ~ $18 2nd ~ $16 3rd ~ $14 4th ~
$12 5th ~ $10 Wethers - neutered male goats 1. Wether Kids - 0 to 1 year 2. Wether Yearling - 1 to 2 years 3. Wether - 2 years and over 4. Grand & Reserved Champion Does 1. Doe Kids - 0 to 1 year 2. Doe Yearlings - 1 to 2 years 3. Doe - 2 - 3 years 4. Doe Aged 5. Dam & Daughter 6. Grand & Reserved Champion Showmanship Contest Classes: 1. Showmanship, Exhibitors age 16 and over 2. Showmanship, Exhibitors age 13 to 15 3. Showmanship, Exhibitors age 10 to 12 4. Showmanship, Exhibitors age 9 and under Premiums for each showmanship class will be: 1st ~ $15 2nd ~ $12 3rd ~ $9 4th ~ $8 5th ~ $7 (all exhibitors not placing in showmanship $6) |
